Edward J Veasey Jr was born and raised in Lima, Ohio. He spent seven years as a civil engineer in Allen county and entered Kent College of Law in Chicago, Illinois and graduated in 1915. He gave up his work at a law firm to enter the service as an officer. He was mortally wounded on July 15, 1918 during the Second Battle of the Marne and died the next day at the evacuation hospital.
