Published The Lima News 13 Dec 1953Lima Marine, Missing 3 Years, Reported As Dead Three years after he was reported missing in Korea, a Lima Marine, S Sgt Donald S Foster, has been listed as killed in action. Mrs David Foster, 817 N Elizabeth St, his mother, was notified by Lt Gen G C Thomas, Marine Corps commandant, that "a finding of death' had been made.Sgt Foster was sent to Korea in July of 1950, then was wounded in September of the same year. A wire chief in the First Marine Division, he first was reported missing Dec 5, 1950.A graduate of St John's High School, he enlisted in the Marine Corps in July 1953, and continued in service thereafter.Born Sept 10, 1925, Sgt Foster served in the Asiatic theater of operations during World War II and was stationed in Guam two years.His widow, Mary Agnes Foster, and two children, Donna, 6, and Daniel, 3, live in Oceanside, Calif. In addition to his mother, two brother, Robert, Toledo and Fred F, 819 N Elizabeth st survive.
